Modern-day legend Virat Kohli is now within touching distance of surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record for the most centuries in List A history. Following a match-winning 131 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy opener, the Royal Challengers Bangalore star now sits on 58 tons, needing just two more to equal the Master Blaster’s record of 60.

What makes Kohli’s pursuit even more remarkable is the efficiency of his scoring; he has reached his current tally in over 200 fewer innings than Tendulkar. This chase comes shortly after Kohli surpassed Tendulkar's record for the most ODI centuries (50) during the 2023 World Cup, positioning him to claim the overall List A crown.

With several group-stage matches and potential knockouts remaining in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, fans are hopeful that the 37-year-old will claim the top spot before the tournament concludes, cementing his status as the most prolific white-ball centurion in history.

“The record for most centuries in List A cricket - which includes One Day Internationals (ODIs) and domestic 50-over matches - has been held by Sachin Tendulkar for over a decade.”

RCB Star Jacob Bethell Credits IPL Experience for Ashes Test Success

The IPL, I only played two games but every game and every occasion. Definitely, just knowing what I'm able to get out of myself when the situation is like that and when the atmosphere is like that. I definitely had a lot more confidence coming into this game after playing in front of, I don't know, 50,000 - which felt like 100,000 - at the Chinnaswamy.
