Delhi Capitals pacer Mitchell Starc is making a highly anticipated return to the Big Bash League (BBL) after an 11-year absence, re-signing with the Sydney Sixers for BBL 15. Starc, who recently retired from T20 Internationals, now has a window to participate in the latter half of the tournament following the conclusion of the Ashes in January.
Starc expressed his excitement to return to the club, where he was part of the inaugural BBL winning campaign. Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes hailed Starc’s signing, noting that his "strike power with both the new and old ball is unmatched" and that his leadership will play a major role on and off the field, providing a significant boost to the Sixers' push for the finals.
“Mitch's strike power with both the new and old ball is unmatched, and we hope he will play a vital role in our push towards the finals. Even when not playing in recent years, Mitch has shown himself to be a great ambassador for the club, and we look forward to that leadership playing a major role on and off the field in BBL|15,”
