Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have strategically strengthened their support staff ahead of the IPL 2026 season by appointing Carl Crowe as their new spin coach. Crowe brings extensive T20 experience, having previously served as the spin coach for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during their successful 2024 IPL title campaign.
Crowe is highly regarded for his innovative training methods, including techniques designed to enhance bowler control under pressure. Notably, he is credited with playing a pivotal role in the career revival of spinner Varun Chakaravarthy, helping him return to the national team after a three-year hiatus. Chakaravarthy subsequently became the joint-highest wicket-taker for India during their Champions Trophy victory.
This move continues a trend for LSG, which has previously brought in several players and staff members with KKR connections, including former mentor Gautam Gambhir. As LSG aims to bounce back from a seventh-place finish last season, Crowe's expertise will be vital in maximizing the potential of their spin attack and challenging for the title in the upcoming season.
