Jitesh Sharma, Royal Challengers Bangalore's wicketkeeper-batsman, has officially moved from Vidarbha to Baroda for the 2025-26 domestic season. Sharma seeks more red-ball cricket opportunities after limited chances with Vidarbha, where Akshay Wadkar held the wicketkeeping position.
Sharma's transfer may have been influenced by his bond with Baroda captain Krunal Pandya, his RCB teammate. The two played together during RCB's successful IPL 2025 campaign, where Sharma was a key finisher and even captained the team in Rajat Patidar's absence.
Sharma's last first-class appearance was 18 months ago. He has played only 18 first-class matches since his debut in 2015-16, scoring 600 runs at an average of 24.48. Baroda hopes Sharma's arrival will boost their fortunes after a mixed 2024-25 season.
