India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav achieved a major milestone during the rain-affected first T20I against Australia in Canberra. The explosive batter became only the second Indian, after Rohit Sharma, to breach the 150 sixes mark in T20 Internationals. Crucially, Suryakumar achieved this feat in just 86 innings, making him the fastest player globally to reach the 150-six milestone.
The achievement came during his quickfire knock of 39* off 24 balls, which helped India reach 97/1 in 9.4 overs before the match was abandoned. This innings also saw Suryakumar surpass MS Dhoni's record for the most T20I runs scored by an Indian against Australia, moving his tally to 329 runs in 10 matches against the Aussies.
Suryakumar's continued dominance reinforces his reputation as one of the most destructive T20 batters in the world. His ability to score rapidly, highlighted by his 150 sixes, is a massive asset for the Indian team as they look ahead to the 2026 T20 World Cup.
