Rishabh Pant has provided an update on his fractured toe injury sustained during the fourth Test against England, confirming he will begin rehabilitation upon returning to India.
Pant, who played a courageous innings despite the injury, has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test. He expressed gratitude for the support received and his eagerness to return to international cricket.
Pant's performance in the series has been impressive, accumulating 479 runs in seven innings at an average of 68.42, including two centuries and three half-centuries. His absence will be a significant loss for India in the series decider.
Pant's replacement, N Jagadeesan, will join the squad for the final Test at The Oval. Pant's focus now shifts to recovery and preparing for India's next Test series against West Indies in October.
