Mohammed Shami, the Indian pacer, recently revealed that he contemplated suicide during a challenging period but found strength in his love for cricket.
Shami opened up about his struggles on "Aap Ki Adalat with Rajat Sharma," expressing gratitude that he overcame those dark thoughts, which coincided with the World Cup. He credited the game and the recognition it brought him for helping him persevere.
Shami also addressed the online abuse he faced following domestic violence allegations, admitting the fear it caused. He described the volume of allegations as overwhelming, saying even a "terrorist would not have been levelled so many allegations."
Shami last played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025, where he had a disappointing season. He has not represented India since the ICC Champions Trophy in March 2025.
