England's Moeen Ali has praised Ravindra Jadeja's batting performance in the ongoing Test series against England but offered a more critical assessment of his bowling. Ali acknowledged Jadeja's resilient batting, particularly his unbeaten 61 at Lord's, which kept India's hopes alive on Day 5.
However, Ali questioned Jadeja's impact with the ball, noting that while he bowls tightly and lands the ball in good areas, he hasn't taken enough wickets. Jadeja has only managed three wickets across the three Test matches so far.
Ali also commented on Kuldeep Yadav's potential inclusion in the Indian team, suggesting he deserves a chance but acknowledging the difficulty in fitting him into the playing XI given the contributions of Washington Sundar and Jadeja himself.
“He just knows what he’s doing. I think he’s done it for many years. I think he’s been amazing with the bat this series, obviously. I think with the ball, he hasn’t quite got the wickets, but he does what he does. He’s very tight. He can bowl, but he’s not outstanding”
