Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has signed with the Sharjah Warriorz for the upcoming ILT20 Season 4, replacing Kusal Mendis. Karthik, who recently served as part of the leadership group and batting coach for the IPL 2025 champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru, brings two decades of T20 experience to the UAE-based franchise.
Karthik’s signing is expected to significantly bolster the Warriorz’s batting unit, particularly in the finishing phases of an innings, a role he is renowned for. Coincidentally, Karthik will reunite with former RCB colleague Tim David, who is also part of the Sharjah Warriorz overseas contingent. Head Coach JP Duminy praised Karthik’s innovative mind and explosive batting ability, anticipating that his presence will greatly benefit the younger players in the squad.
“Dinesh Karthik is one of the most experienced hands and an incredibly innovative mind when it comes to T20 cricket, and I am chuffed to have him in our corner for the upcoming edition of the ILT20.”
