Former South African star AB de Villiers has praised the potential of young talent Dewald Brevis, highlighting his attacking style and comparing him to a "360-degree player." De Villiers expressed his admiration for Brevis's abilities during a recent interview.
While acknowledging Brevis's need to further develop his game, de Villiers expressed disappointment that the young all-rounder plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) instead of his former team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Brevis, who made his international debut in 2023, has shown promise in various formats.
In IPL 2025, Brevis joined CSK as an injury replacement and impressed with a strike rate of 180, scoring 225 runs. He has also performed well in recent international T20 matches for South Africa, further solidifying his potential as a future star.
“From South Africa, I would say Dewald Brevis (who could become the next 360-degree player in the game). Yeah, he has the Number 17 on the back. He plays similar kind of cricket. He is very attacking and still has a lot to learn. He is playing for CSK and not RCB, that is a shame,”
